World Vision
is a great contributor to Caleb Ministries through their warehouse distribution
program. They ask the agencies benefitting to give back some time helping in
their warehouse. We have done this twice before and it can be great fun. They
ask us to limit it to 10 volunteers. If you would like to join is, the next work
party is March 23rd, 11AM to 2PM. We would leave my house at 10 AM
and be back by 3.
IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO JOIN US, CALL CONNIE PHILLIPS at 206 200 7893 TO GET ON THE
LIST. REMEMBER there are just 10 slots.

This Christmas
Caleb hosted its first "Stone Soup" party, inviting those who had no family or
activity to attend Christmas Day evening to come for dinner and fellowship. We
served Ham, scallop potatoes, bean casserole, pasta salad, green salad, mashed
potatoes, ice cream cake, 4 pies, and assorted other goodies. There were gifts
and party favors for all. After dinner, we showed the videos "The Star of
Bethlehem" and then "The Nativity". Everyone appeared to have a great time and
want to do it next year as well Thanks to Sara and Bill, Jon Meer, and Darrell
and Sally for helping out with gifts and refreshments, and to Nellie for massive
cooking talents!
The Annual Caleb Christmas Caroling and White Elephant Gift Exchange
were a great time. Thank you all for coming and special thanks to
Blake Woolsey for bringing live music to our gathering and Pauline Smith for
bringing Blake Woolsey to our party! They are a great addition to the Caleb
family.

Westside
Foursquare Church in Shorewood (Burien) at 11452 26th Ave SW has graciously
offered to let CALEB MINISTRIES operate the annual Church Parking lot yardsale
on JUNE 5th, 2010 to benefit Caleb Ministries. This is the day of the annual
SHOREWOOD COMMUNITY WIDE YARDSALE so potentially there could be a wonderful
turnout.
We need people to rent stalls in the parking lot at $20/space. Setup will be
from 8:30 AM and the sales from 10 AM until 3:00 PM. We need people to help set
up the tables in the stalls, make and place signs advertising the location, and

IN LOVING MEMORY...

It is with great sorrow that we say goodbye for
now to our beloved NAN V. CORNING, 71. She went
home to GLORY Wednesday morning,
March 25, 2009, and is in the loving arms of Her savior Jesus
The Christ. Nan
received Jesus as her Savior at Westside Foursquare Church approximately five
years ago and became deeply committed to serving Him through Caleb Ministries.
She rarely missed a Caleb Event, work party or Presentation. She gave generously
of all she had to the Lord, wanting always
to serve others and continually
putting her own needs and desires aside. She lived the "widows
mite". Following
Bible study and dinner on Tuesday Evening at the home of Jerry Riess, she
returned to her home where she suffered a sudden cardiac event after chasing her
dog Jack Jack. She called 9ll and
then Jerry for help. The medics arrived in 3
minutes but it was too late as she never fully regained consciousness. They took
her to Highline hospital but she expired about 2 am.
Nan was widowed many years ago, had no surviving children, but is survived by
her mother Dorothy Corning and her sister Sandy Mael who reside together in
Everett, and by her many, many good friends and
church family. The Lord has
brought home a great warrior and servant!
